Medicine and Dentistry may apply higher academic thresholds. Requirements vary by program and country of prior education; documents are assessed individually before submission.

Academic standard: a high school GPA of at least 60 out of 100 is generally expected. Competitive programs — particularly Medicine and Dentistry — may set higher thresholds and may consider SAT, ACT, or IB results where available.

English proficiency (for English-taught programs). Applicants who did not complete high school in English typically provide one of the following accepted scores, or sit the university’s own English proficiency test:

International English Proficiency Exams and Minimum Scores:

Exam	Minimum score
TOEFL iBT	84
IELTS Academic (overall)	6.5
Pearson PTE Academic	71
Cambridge C1 Advanced	B
Cambridge C2 Proficiency	C

Online/home editions of TOEFL iBT and IELTS are not accepted. Applicants without a recognized certificate may take Medipol’s English assessment before registration.

Turkish proficiency (for Turkish-taught programs):
A TÖMER certificate is recommended. Applicants without one take Medipol’s Turkish proficiency test before registration; those who fall short may join an intensive Turkish program before starting their main program.

Also note: a residence permit is arranged after arrival, and admitted students confirm their place by paying a deposit to the university. Requirements vary by program and by country of prior education, so each application is reviewed individually. Global Academia confirms the exact requirements for your chosen program before submitting.

(Language-test scores and GPA thresholds are set by the university and revised each intake — confirm current requirements at the time of application.)

Application Process

Application through Global Academia is free, and most programs are admitted on the basis of academic records rather than an entrance exam. The process has five steps:

Choose your program. Select your program from the fee table on this page, or contact us for guidance on the best fit for your background.
Submit your documents. Send your high school diploma, transcript, passport copy, and photograph. Final-year students can apply before graduating using a recent transcript.
Receive Conditional Acceptance (Offer Letter). We submit your application to the university. Once reviewed, a provisional (conditional) acceptance letter is typically issued within a few working days.
Confirm your place with the deposit. Pay the deposit to the university’s account as set out in the conditional acceptance letter. This secures your place; the official acceptance letter follows.
Prepare for arrival. With your official acceptance, we guide you through your student visa, and after arrival assist with your residence permit, accommodation, and enrollment.

Global Academia is an ICEF-certified, officially recognised representative of Istanbul Medipol University. Our service to students is free, and there is no application fee.
